Soccer balls, plastic baggies, athletic leggings, tires, cameras, tape, legos…. The list goes on and on. If you’ve used these products, traveled in any capacity or simply enjoyed central heating in the winter, you’ve been impacted by Jacam Catalyst.
The company itself is a bit of an enigma to the average person, who may have heard the name or seen the logo in passing, but doesn’t really know who they are or what they do.
Trying to explain the details of what Jacam does is the equivalent of talking to a rocket scientist… quite literally actually! Beyond the fact their work has a direct impact on the space technology industry, they have their very own scientists and laboratories across the country — including two state-of-the-art labs, with one of those located in Sterling, Kansas.

In terms most of us understand, Jacam Catalyst helps oil producers maintain safety and efficiency with their oil wells. According to Carrie Ball, the Director of Operations, “If your well is sick, we fix it!” They do this with specialized chemicals, on-site testing, and custom diagnostics in their labs. Remember those soccer balls and travel plans? That’s right! When Jacam helps oil producers, they are able to produce higher quality and higher quantities in faster, safer ways so the rest of us can continue to enjoy all the benefits of the millions of products made with oil.
In fact, not only are they the largest chemical provider in Kansas, they are the second largest provider in the United States. That’s a big deal considering their primary headquarters tucked away in classic-small-town, Sterling, Kansas.

What started, much like Apple and Microsoft, out of a garage, is now one of the biggest — and one of the best — companies in the industry in the U.S. They are considered the “best” by having the highest customer loyalty for five years running, not to mention their passion about giving back.
When asked specifically about what she wanted people to know about Jacam, Ball said for her, it always comes down to being able to give back in a big way. The company supports her in her role and desire to support Kansas — including being able to support the Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation and the Kansas State Fair at the level they’ve maintained for years.
She also spoke about how much she loves the Kansas State Fair saying, “It’s ten days of Kansas! It’s food, fun, family and friends and I love that Jacam is able to support it the way we do, because it’s Kansas and it’s local and it’s important.”
We are more than grateful to Jacam Catalyst for their love of the Kansas State Fair and the incredible support they give to the Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation to support our mission and work for continued improvement of the Kansas State Fairgrounds. We cannot wait to celebrate with them at Boots and Bling 2026 – Welcome to Vegas Baby! on August, 1, 2026.
