May @ the 1861 Club: Winning Reflections and Fair Futures

With the closing of May, we’re reflecting on a month filled with celebration, connection, and unforgettable moments at the 1861 Club.

Hats and Horses

One of the highlights of the month was the Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation’s annual Hats & Horses Luxury Kentucky Derby Fundraiser. The event was a tremendous success, with guests dressed to the nines, enjoying an afternoon of elegance, excitement, and Derby-inspired fun. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this signature event such a memorable occasion.

Many Meaningful Events

Throughout the remainder of the month, the 1861 Club welcomed a variety of special gatherings, including graduation parties, family reunions, and celebrations of life. Each event brought its own unique stories, laughter, and cherished memories.

The 1861 Club was truly filled with joy this month as friends and families came together to celebrate milestones, honor loved ones, and create lasting memories. We are grateful to be part of so many meaningful moments in our community.

As we look ahead, preparations are already underway for the 2026 Kansas State Fair, and we couldn’t be more excited for another incredible season.

About the 1861 Club

The 1861 Club is a flexible, lodge style event venue located on the Kansas State Fairgrounds and operated by the Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation. For most of the year it operates as a high-end venue for weddings, special and corporate events, and activities. During the Kansas State Fair, it is transformed into a climate-controlled food, beverage and entertainment venue for fast fine dining and an entertainment experience for all Fair attendees.

Funds raised at the 1861 Club are put back into projects which improve the Kansas State Fairgrounds. These improvements are enjoyed by thousands of visitors each year. So, enjoying the 1861 Club during the Fair and year-round supports the Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation’s mission: To further the renovation, construction, preservation and beautification of the Kansas State Fairgrounds.
