Memorable moments were jampacked at the 1861 Club this March. From meetings and luncheons to retirement parties and weddings, we covered it all! We are very excited to see all the opportunities coming into the Club.
- You typically think about weddings being a weekend event, but our team assisted one couple make St. Patrick’s Day their special day! Both the ceremony and reception were held inside at the 1861 Club with a flawless transition. One of our favorite highlights was the homemade ice cream served at their reception!
- A Celebration of Life was held for Dr. Davis this month at the Club. It shows this man made a big impact on our community by not only seeing the turn out, but seeing how many patients stood up during speeches. The event was catered by Chef Rick, of Prairie Dunes Country Club. He provided a spread of heavy hors d’oeuvres which guests were raving about the entire event. For a celebration of life, you don’t expect to hear that the guests had an amazing time, but we received comments and praises saying just that. We are proud to be able to provide that for our community.
- The PRA Awards dinner was a blast! During the event all TVs were streaming the NCAA games as well as the Women’s K-State Basketball game. DB Extreme hit it out of the park with not just the music, but with their interactive booths. Catering was provided by The Bakery House, who is always a fan favorite. You may be surprised to see our own, James and Maddie, “bartending” for the event. They really can do it all! “This was a fun group, and we are happy we got to celebrate with them,“ said Maddie Burns.

- You may have seen our booth at The Women’s Show at the Meadowlark Building. We set up several tours and met some amazing people!
- Hats & Horses prep has started for the May 3rd event. Don’t miss out on the best Kentucky Derby experience in Kansas! Reserve your table now by calling 620-615-7388 or check out this article for details about individual tickets.
Coming up: The Boys & Girls Club have started set up for their “Greatest Celebration” event where the 1861 Club will be transformed into a Circus Big Top! Make sure to watch for the next e-update to see the finished result.
