August @ the 1861 Club: Tours, Teamwork & a Whole Lot of State Fair Prep!

August flew by at the 1861 Club! Between tours, community events, and plenty of behind-the-scenes Kansas State Fair prep, our team has been busy getting ready for the most exciting time of the year!

We were honored to once again host the Reno County Hospice Festival of Remembrance. And because it wouldn’t be Kansas without a little weather drama, some crazy storms decided to join us — bringing down trees and making quite the entrance! But that didn’t stop this incredible group. Attendees showed up, supported one another, and raised money for an amazing cause. We’re always grateful to be a small part of such a meaningful event.

We also hosted the last Chamber Luncheon of the season! Next month, it’s back to breakfasts. Chamber days are always a favorite around here since it’s hard to beat good food, great conversations, and getting to see some of our favorite community members!

Stroberg Soil Solutions returned for a busy two-day stay at the Club. Day one was all business with a full day of expert education in their field. Day two? They traded education for FUN and hosted a family carnival complete with games, bounce houses, cotton candy, snow cones and plenty of smiles!

IdeaTek also stopped by for a fun staff outing and luncheon. We love seeing local teams step away from the everyday routine, spend some time together and enjoy the Club!

To wrap up the month, the Family Community Theatre held its annual fundraiser — and what a way to finish August! The event was a wonderful success, and as an added bonus, their incredibly talented performers sang their hearts out for us. Dinner and a show? We’ll take it!

And now… IT’S STATE FAIR TIME!

As we head into September, we’re setting the stage, warming the ovens, and chillin’ the 1861 Brew so everything is ready for your visit!

Whether you’re stopping in for a bite to eat, cooling off with a cold drink, catching some live entertainment, or just taking a break from all the Fair excitement, we can’t wait to welcome you.

Don’t miss the food, the fun, and the entertainment at the 1861 Club during the Kansas State Fair!

See you at the Club!

Everyone is welcome — Come Inside!

About the 1861 Club

The 1861 Club is a flexible, lodge style event venue located on the Kansas State Fairgrounds and operated by the Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation. For most of the year it operates as a high-end venue for weddings, special and corporate events, and activities. During the Kansas State Fair, it is transformed into a climate-controlled food, beverage and entertainment venue for fast fine dining and an entertainment experience for all Fair attendees.

Funds raised at the 1861 Club are put back into projects which improve the Kansas State Fairgrounds. These improvements are enjoyed by thousands of visitors each year. So, enjoying the 1861 Club during the Fair and year-round supports the Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation’s mission: To further the renovation, construction, preservation and beautification of the Kansas State Fairgrounds.
