June @ the 1861 Club: Busy and Exciting!

June was a busy and exciting month at the 1861 Club! Summer is in full swing, and the 1861 Club was buzzing with activity throughout June.

Women’s Conference

We kicked off the month by welcoming the Women’s Conference hosted by the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber. This event is always a favorite! The building was filled with inspiring women, meaningful connections, and an atmosphere of confidence, encouragement, and empowerment. A special thank you to Wootens Sweet Cakes, Metropolitan Coffee, and Donuts in Paradise for keeping attendees fueled throughout the day with delicious treats that were, as always, a huge hit!

Wedding

Love was certainly in the air as we celebrated two beautiful weddings this month. Each couple transformed the Club into a unique reflection of their personal style, creating two stunning celebrations that we’ll remember for years to come. Congratulations to both happy couples—we’re honored you chose the 1861 Club to be part of such a special day!

Corporate

We also hosted a fun-filled corporate employee appreciation event, where staff members were celebrated with great food, fellowship, and an exciting lineup of prizes. It’s always rewarding to see organizations invest in recognizing their teams.

Our monthly Chamber Lunch brought together community partners and colleagues. While attendance was a little lighter thanks to busy summer schedules, it’s always a pleasure to connect with familiar faces and continue building relationships within our community.

And More!

Another highlight of the month was welcoming Open Door for their annual Women’s Luncheon. This event never disappoints, featuring an incredible guest speaker and, of course, the famous cheesecake from The Bakery House, which was enjoyed by all!

We were also excited to host the Charolais Junior Nationals Quiz Bowl, welcoming youth from across the country as they showcased their knowledge and passion for the agriculture industry. It’s always wonderful to see the next generation of leaders gathered here at the Kansas State Fairgrounds.

Prepping for Kansas State Fair 2026

Behind the scenes, our team has officially shifted into full Kansas State Fair preparation mode. There’s a lot happening as we gear up for another incredible fair season, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the 1861 Club in just a few short weeks.

Follow along on our Facebook and Instagram @1861Club for all the latest updates and announcements for the Fair!

As always, thank you for being part of the 1861 Club family. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

About the 1861 Club

The 1861 Club is a flexible, lodge style event venue located on the Kansas State Fairgrounds and operated by the Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation. For most of the year it operates as a high-end venue for weddings, special and corporate events, and activities. During the Kansas State Fair, it is transformed into a climate-controlled food, beverage and entertainment venue for fast fine dining and an entertainment experience for all Fair attendees.

Funds raised at the 1861 Club are put back into projects which improve the Kansas State Fairgrounds. These improvements are enjoyed by thousands of visitors each year. So, enjoying the 1861 Club during the Fair and year-round supports the Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation’s mission: To further the renovation, construction, preservation and beautification of the Kansas State Fairgrounds.
