While February may have been a short month, the 1861 Club has not been short on fun since the last E-Update! Being a space that makes memorable moments more amazing is, to put it simply, amazing!
A few featured items that created memorable and amazing moments since the last E-Update:
We were excited and honored to host a 90th birthday party! What a huge milestone. It was wonderful to see friends and family gather to share memories and celebrate such a special person. Wooten’s Sweet Cakes was the caterer and the food was fabulous!

The Hutch Chamber hosted another successful Chamber Breakfast with the featured speaker being Laura Meyer Dick who told the attendees about the Landmark Building Project she is renovating as a part of the Downtown improvement plan. Talking about positive changes along with delicious food – it’s a great way to start the day.
The Kansas State Fair hosted the Zone 5 Conference for the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE). Zone 5 includes fairs and festivals from Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa, and Illinois. The conference was filled with workshops and seminars, including an opportunity for attendees to visit either Stratica or the Cosmosphere. The 1861 Club opened our doors as the Kansas State Fair hosted this wonderful evening of celebration and networking. With a Wizard of Oz theme: Follow the Yellowbrick Road, the evening featured lovely Wizard of Oz decor with historic Wizard of the Oz characters from the State Fair archives and a huge Wizard of Oz photo backdrop. dBExtreme provided a fun photo booth and 360 video experience with the featured entertainment being provided by David Lewis Entertainment, Manhattan, KS who provided music, interactive game shows and music bingo which had all of the attendees singing along and participating. What a great opportunity to spotlight the 1861 Club to fairs from across the region.
