1861 Club Update – January Events and Everything Weddings and Events Recap

The 1861 Club started the year off right with a busy January!

January saw the 1861 Club finishing up the holiday season with several Christmas parties and special events. One of the holiday parties was purchased as a special Live auction item from Boots and Bling by Jamin & Andrea Phillips and Chris & Ann Breckenridge – which they used as a fundraising party for their local 4-H Clubs. Talk about giving and then giving again! Kansas Ethanol enjoyed a great night of holiday festivities with a great dinner with the evening highlighted with entertainment by the band Paramount.

Buhler Schools USD 313 celebrated the season with a fantastic Dueling Piano fundraiser for the Buhler Education Foundation. The songs were soaring, the drinks were flowing, and everything was perfectly in tune! It was a blast hosting such a fun event!

In the midst of it all, the Chamber of Commerce held their State of the City Breakfast with their largest attendance ever and MMS Co-op enjoyed our beautiful space for a holiday party. Kansas Angus moved their Annual Awards Banquet to the 1861 Club making excellent use of the space to raise funds for the organization, and auction items for the Kansas Auxiliary and the Kansas Junior Angus Association – all while enjoying an evening with friends from all across the state.

After that, it was time to take down all of the beautiful seasonal decor. It was a breeze thanks to the hard work of some of our Foundation board members! You know you have a great board when they are willing to get down on the ground and get their hands dirty— or in this case—glittery!

The other January highlight centered around wedding planning as we attended the Wichita Bridal Expo and prepared for our very own Everything Weddings and Events Show.

The Everything Weddings and Events Show was a huge success. We hosted dozens of vendors who met with more than 160 registered attendees and their friends and families. The energy under the 30’ timber ceiling was electric and palpable as everyone enjoyed the show.

Vendors presented their services with beautiful and creative booths, including catering, event planning, bar services, photographers, flowers, bridal gowns, and more!

Several brides and community members who have already booked the 1861 Club took the opportunity to see the space in action and meet with potential vendors to make their events even more perfect.

Whether you were able to attend the show or not, we would love for you to check out the incredible vendors who made the show amazing.

We would love to give a big thank you to everyone who made this event possible! Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed the show, thank you to the vendors, thank you to the volunteers, and thank you to Tami Rife for her incredible management and organization of this event. Thank you all!

Stay tuned next month to hear about the rest of the February fun we plan to have!
