Whether guests came in for food, beverage, entertainment or to check out the 1861 Club during the Kansas State Fair, WOW! was the word of the week heard loud and clear from many.   The 1861 Club was the talk of the fairgrounds and across town, as the word spread about the must-see new venue that opened on the Kansas State Fairgrounds. 

We want to thank the thousands of guests who stopped by.   We enjoyed talking and sharing this amazing venue with you.   The staff was incredible, quickly delivering food and beverage orders, greeting guests at the doors, and the team that took pride in keeping the 1861 Club clean.   Many months of planning went into this endeavor, and it was a great success. 

The most asked questions asked during the week were “What are your hours after the fair?”, and “Is the 1861 Club going to be open on the weekends?”.  To address the many rumors, the 1861 Club will be open to the public during the 10 days of the Kansas State Fair.  Non-fair dates, the 1861 Club will be available as a rental venue for weddings and special events. 

After the fair, a few members of Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation board met with the 1861 staff to review what we did right and what needs to be revisited.  Many things went right, and with just a few ideas shared to make improvements for next year.  With all the positive comments received on FB and from visiting guest support, we started on the right track.
