The Foundation’s best and busiest time of the year is quickly approaching and volunteers are needed to make each of these activities a big success.
You can volunteer to be part of the best FUNdraising party in Kansas – 2024 Boots & Bling – Summer Breeze – the signature FUNdraising event for the Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation. It’s jam-packed with more than 700 people, great music, excellent food, signature drinks, and incredible live and silent auctions. Volunteers will help with tasks ranging from helping attendees find their tables, registering the guests, monitoring auction items, assisting in data entry, and closing out Silent and Live Auctions.
Then in 3 short weeks, the Foundation will have a bigger presence than ever at the 2024 Kansas State Fair with volunteers needed in 3 distinct areas from September 6 – 15 to help facilitate the Foundation’s activities and events.
These include the Lair White House VIP Hospitality, where the Lair White House becomes hospitality central. Volunteers are needed to host State Fair dignitaries, major sponsors, and Foundation donors at special events held at the White House throughout the Fair. Volunteers will work with Foundation staff to prepare food and drink presentations, greet attendees, and make them feel welcome and appreciated for their part in the success of the Kansas State Fair and the Foundation.
The second area is the KSF Official Merchandise Booth Sales Crew – these volunteers will work 3 to 4-hour sessions throughout the fair, need to have a friendly engaging personality and enjoy assisting with product choices – t-shirts, hoodies, caps, and more. They should have excellent knowledge of the Fair and Fairgrounds as they give directions and answer dozens of questions as people look for that special item, event, their favorite ride, food, or “Where’s the closest restroom?”
Then new this year – the Foundation needs volunteers as a part of the 1861 CLUB –FRIENDLINESS TEAM! These volunteers will greet the fairgoers and help them feel comfortable and welcome in the newest venue on the Kansas State Fairgrounds. They will provide a quick overview of the venue, the big screen TVs, the entertainment line-up, and how to place orders for their favorite food and beverage – letting patrons know they go to the counter or use the QR code on their table to place their order. These volunteers will need to be engaging and enjoy talking with every fairgoer!
You, the future outstanding volunteers are the reason the Foundation has the best FUNdraising event and the best 10 days of the year at the Kansas State Fair.
