Exciting Growth of Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation Staff

Welcome to Staci Birney!

The Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation is excited to announce that Staci Birney has joined the Foundation team as the Events, Public Relations, and Volunteer Coordinator.

Staci brings years of event planning, staging, design and volunteer experience to her new role with the Foundation. As a volunteer Staci assisted with the Reno County Round-Up, the signature fundraiser for the Cancer Council of Reno County (CCRC). She served as part of the decorating team, assisted with t-shirt design and the food committee, along with soliciting donations for the live and silent auctions. She also served on the CCRC Purse Auction committee assisting with the overall execution of the event. Her volunteer roles extended to her community in Willowbrook, where she served on the 100-Year Celebration planning committee, as well as the Willowbrook Golf Tournament Committee and in many other community service positions. Planning and executing events has been a big part of Staci’s volunteer experience from graduations, to Christmas parties, and weddings to fundraisers Staci has been fully involved in the success of hundreds of events.

Staci’s experience in event planning will help her as she joins the Foundation team in planning and preparation of the best FUNdraisng party in Kansas, Boots and Bling – the signature fundraising event for the Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation as well as all other Foundation activities. Her duties will also see her assisting with events and activities, at the soon-to-open, 1861 Club. A special event venue being built on the Kansas State Fairgrounds by the Foundation.

Serving as a volunteer throughout her life, it’s only natural that she understands what it takes to recruit talented and dedicated volunteers who will be fully engaged in the organization. In the volunteer part of her role, she will work with the other Foundation staff and board members to identify, recruit and manage the individuals needed in volunteer service to the Foundation. 

Customer Service has always been a part of her professional career. Serving as a dental hygienist for more than 20 years, providing exceptional service is an important part of her duties. Staci enjoys design and staging and has put her flare for the artistic to work in providing custom holiday decorating and displays for homes and businesses since 2014, including decorating the Governor’s mansion in Topeka. She also prepares and stages homes being put on the market for a number of realtors.

Staci is exactly what the Foundation was looking for in this position. She brings a level of professionalism and she understands the expectations of the position is helping the Foundation to grow and continue making a significant impact and positive changes to the Kansas State Fairgrounds.

When not working, Staci enjoys spending time with her husband Matt, and their three children, as well as other family members and friends.
