As we approach the end of 2022, we want to take a moment to THANK YOU for all your kindness and support. Whether you volunteered, donated, sponsored, attended a Foundation event, or made a purchase in our fundraising auctions, you helped make a positive impact on the Kansas State Fairgrounds, our community, and our state. The scope of work for the Foundation has grown ten-fold in the last year, taking on significant renovation and improvement projects on the Kansas State Fairgrounds including the Capper Project and the T.A.G. 2023 program to renovate the Fountain House.
Let me introduce you to 8-year-old Emma, making her first visit to the Kansas State Fair with her mom and dad in 2022. Emma woke up early, excited to get the day started and headed to the Fair. Upon arriving they quickly made their way to the south side of the fairgrounds to check out all the animals and birds. Walking through the livestock barns and then stopping at the Birthing Center at the very moment a momma sow gave birth to her piglets. Then it was off to the Goat Barn to watch her cousins show their goats in the Grand Drive competition. The rest of the day was filled with checking out the 4-H and FFA exhibits, riding rides on the midway with her cousins and playing in the interactive water fountain to cool off. She ate a Pronto Pup with a lemon shakeup, then boarded the train for a ride around the fairgrounds. She loved watching the roving piano, the transformer robot, and going down the big slide. Some of her favorite things were the draft horse parade and the magicians show at the Lake Talbot stage. By the end of the day, Emma was exhausted, but still excited, she had thoroughly enjoyed her first visit to the Kansas State Fair. On the drive home Emma exclaimed, “That was so much fun. Mom, dad, do you think I can show a goat at the Fair next year?”
The Kansas State Fair helps build a lifetime of memories, and opens the eyes of people of all ages to new and exciting opportunities and experiences. Emma’s story is just one of the thousands of similar stories which could be told. Hopefully you too, have a few stories and memories of your own. By supporting the Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation, YOU help make possible these experiences for a new generation. Together we work to renovate, construct, preserve, and beautify the Kansas State Fairgrounds along with supporting the programs of the Kansas State Fair.
As you contemplate your year-end giving, we hope you will find the Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation deserving of your consideration and support.

Capper Project
The Capper Project is rebuilding the much loved House of Capper and adding the exciting Capper Cooperative Park.
The project is close to being completed, but with the increasing costs in the construction industry, our price tag has doubled. We are still in need of your support to get this important and historic project fully funded!
T.A.G. 2023
Together Achieving Greatness! This year’s unique group brings together fair-loving individuals to support the goal of renovating the Fountain House located next to the Lair-Steckline Interactive Fountain.
Only the first 500 supporters with their minimum gift of $250 will be included in the T.A.G. 2023 Team. Members will receive recognition on the completed project as well as a special T.A.G. 2023 lapel pin.
